Eligibility
The James City County Office of Housing Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from September 11, 2020, until September 15, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Any family that has been involuntarily displaced by government action or by natural disaster or other national emergency in the PHA’s jurisdiction.
- Victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, as described in Section 4-III.C.
- Any family that lives in James City County.
- Any family that has been terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding.
- Non-elderly person with disabilities who are transitioning out institutional or other segregated setting/previously experienced homelessness and currently a client in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing project.
300 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
