Eligibility
The Hopewell Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) last accepted Public Housing waiting list applications for 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments from December 1, 2023, until December 5, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen
There were two ways to apply while the waiting list was open:
- Complete the online application
- In person applications are accepted at the Davisville Community Center
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Residency Preference - Families that live and/or work in Hopewell
- Working Families - Head of Household or Spouse or Sole Member is aged 62 or older or is a person with disabilities or where the Head of the Household is the primary caregiver for a disabled household member. Minimum work hours 15 per week for non-elderly and non-disabled
- Veterans - Person who were honorably discharged or under other than dishonorable conditions
- Olmstead Preference - Applicant families with disabilities who reside in institutions who are ready to leave the institution for community-based living
- Domestic Violence - Victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking
- Elderly/Disabled - Head of Household, Spouse or Sole Member is aged 62 or older or is a person with disabilities
- Homelessness - Individuals with this preference will provide verification of status through an organization identified through the State or Local continuum of care
- Involuntarily Displaced - Involuntarily Displaced or about to be Involuntarily Displaced by government action, fire, natural disaster, domestic violence, to avoid reprisals, hate crimes or due to the inaccessibility of unit
- Involuntarily Displaced HRHA - Involuntarily displaced due to a real estate acquisition by HRHA
Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences
