Hopewell, Virginia Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Hopewell Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for March 1, 2024 at 10:00 am, until March 5, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET

There are two ways to apply while the waitlist is open:

1. Complete the online application that will be available on the HRHA website

2. Complete an application in person at Thomas Rolfe Community Center, located at 239 S 8th St, Hopewell, VA 23860, from 10:00 am, until 4:00 pm ET

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Families that live of work in Hopewell

• Working Families
  • Head of Household or Spouse or Sole Member is aged 62 or older or is a person with disabilities or where the Head of the Household is the primary caregiver for a disabled household member. Minimum work hours 15 per week for non-elderly and non-disabled

• Veterans
• Applicants families with disabilities who reside in institutions who are ready to leave the institution for community-based living

• Victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking

• Elderly/Disabled
• Homelessness
• Involuntarily displaced
• Involuntarily Displaced HRHA

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences
