City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Virginia Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The HRHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from November 1, 2018, until December 1, 2021. The HRHA said that "We anticipate that the new client portal will be available March 1, 2022 and we will start accepting new applications at that time."

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Complete the online application.
2. Complete an application at the HRHA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Live, Work, or Attend School Locally, Working/Employed, Rent Burdened, Elderly, Disabled, Homeless, Veteran, Displaced by Natural Disaster, Live in Substandard Housing, Victims of Domestic Violence, Living in overcrowded conditions,  Job Training or Higher Education or Referred by Local Assistance Program

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
