Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority Mainstream Voucher

The Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA) Section 8 Mainstream Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from January 29, 2021, until February 26, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen

Please note: This waiting list had the following requirements:

• Have a family member who is disabled, aged 18 but not yet 62

• Currently experiencing homelessness or currently in a rapid re-housing or permanent supportive housing program

• Certified as meeting requirement #2 by the Thomas Jefferson Area Coalition for the Homeless (TJACH) Continuum of Care (CoC) Coordinated Entry System via the Haven

There were three ways to apply during the opening period: 

1. Pick up an application from the CRHA rental office

2. Print the online paper application.

3. Call the CRHA

Once the application was completed, it was either:

1. Mailed to the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority

2. Emailed to the CRHA

3. Faxed to the CRHA

4. Dropped off in person at the CRHA

Preferences have not yet been confirmed

It was not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list
