Eligibility
The Knoxville Community Development Corporation (KCDC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted on the second Wednesday of each month, from August 10, 2016, until further notice.
Please note: The Elderly, Disabled and Family-Style Housing waiting lists will briefly close during this opening, and will reopen again the next day.
To apply, complete the online application here, on the second Wednesday of each month, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm ET.
This waiting list has the following preferences:
- Displaced by Government Action
An applicant family who is displaced by government action or an applicant whose dwelling has been extensively damaged or destroyed as a result of a disaster, declared, or otherwise formally recognized, pursuant to Federal Relief laws. - Involuntary Displaced
An applicant family who is in need of immediate shelter by reason of extreme hardship due to fire, flood, natural disaster, domestic violence, victims of reprisals or hate crimes. The hardship will be governed by the position that preference will not be given to a family who is, or is expected to be without housing for failure to pay rent or carry out other normal obligations of residency. - Substandard Housing
A family who currently resides in substandard housing, or who is homeless without a fixed nighttime residence or staying in a supervised shelter. Substandard Housing is defined as any dwelling which is unsanitary, overcrowded or unsafe due to its location, structural condition, or lack of utilities due to no fault of the family. - Disability
A family whose head, spouse, or sole member is disabled.
Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

Reasonable Accommodation
