Eligibility
Housing Works will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 8, 2024 at 8:00 am, until January 12, 2024 at 5:00 pm PT. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since January, 2023

This waiting list has the following preferences:
- Local residency
- Applicants that reside in Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson Counties or whose household includes a family member who works, or has been notified that they are hired to work, in Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson Counties, will be served before those residing outside this area
- single applicants who are elderly or disabled will be given a selection priority over all “other single” applicants. “Other singles” denotes a one-person household in which the individual member is not elderly or disabled. Such applicants will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with any other preferences to which they are entitled, but they cannot be selected for assistance before any one-person elderly or disabled family
Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences
