Eligibility
The Auburn Housing Authority (AHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.
The AHA last accepted applications from February 17, 2021 until September 10, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
There were three ways to apply during the opening period:
- Print the online paper application.
- Pick up an application from outside the AHA main office.
- Call the AHA to request an application by mail.
Once the application was completed, it was either:
- Emailed to the AHA.
- Dropped off at the AHA.
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Applicant families of the City of Auburn (families to include, a “family” – having 2 or more individuals related by blood, marriage, or by operation of law, with or without children; who live regularly together as a single household in the dwelling unit, an elderly family or individual, and a disabled family or individual; a family must contain a competent adult of at least 19 years of age or 18 years of age and married (not common law) to enter into a contract and capable of functioning as the head of the household.)
- Applicant singles of the City of Auburn (singles are considered those not elderly, disabled or being of a familial status)
- Applicants families of other communities
- Applicant singles of other communities
Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
