Eligibility
The Saint Louis Housing Commission (SLHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.
The SLHC offers one Public Housing community with 80 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.
There are two ways to apply:
- Visit the SLHC to pick up a pre-application, located at 308 Delaware St., Saint Louis, Michigan 48880, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm EDT on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- Download the online pre-application here and the Declaration of Section 214 Status, then print and complete.
Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm EDT on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Be sure to include these documents with your application: Birth Certificates, baptismal certificate or naturalization card; Social Security Card, W-2 form or seaman card; drivers license or other photo ID for all adult household members; proof of pregnancy from doctor (if applicable); marriage license (if applicable); divorce decree (if applicable); public assistance award letter (if applicable); three current and consecutive check stubs (if applicable); original award letter for unemployment (if applicable); court-ordered award letter for child support/alimony (if applicable); SSI/Social Security award letter (if applicable); pension/annuity award notice (if applicable); letter from the registrar (if a full-time student); bank statements (if applicable); daycare contact information (if receiving deductions); verification from your doctor estimating out-of-pocket expenses (if receiving deductions).
