Leavenworth County, Kansas Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Leavenworth Housing Authority (LHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted from March 11, 2020 at 8:00 am CT, until further notice.

Please note: The LHA website says "The section 8 waiting list is currently closed," but there is still an active link on the left of the page with information about this opening. It is unconfirmed if this waiting list is still open, as of April 22, 2020.

To apply during the opening period, pick up an application from the LHA, located at 200 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048; Monday through Friday during normal business hours from 8 am to 12 pm and 1:00 pm to 5 pm.

Once the application has been completed, it must be returned in person to the LHA, address mentioned above, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

This waiting list has the following preferences: elderly, disabled, heads of household who are working full time or full time students.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
