Hernando County, Florida Section 8 HCV

The Hernando County Housing Authority (HCHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 2, 2023 at 8:00 am, until October 4, 2023 at 11:59 pm ET

To apply while the waiting list is open, complete the online application. Applications will not be available in the Hernando County Housing Authority office and fax requests will not be accepted. 

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

• 1 Person $30,450 | 4 Persons $43,450
• 2 Persons $34,800 | 5 Persons $46,950
• 3 Persons $39,150 | 6 Persons $50,450

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Currently living and/or working in Hernando County
• Elderly
• Veterans
• Disabled households

500 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences
