About This Building

The Lifeline Assistance Program and Link-Up Georgia offer assistance to qualified residential telephone customers, and are designed to ensure that the basic telephone connection (hook-up) and service remain affordable to all residents of Georgia. Consumers who are currently recipients of benefits from any one of the following low-income assistance programs are eligible to receive Lifeline and/or Link-Up assistance: Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Food Stamps, Medicaid, Senior citizen low income discount plan offered by the local gas or power company, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), or Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) are eligible for these programs.The FCCs 2016 Lifeline order allows low-income consumers to apply the $9.25 per month discount to stand-alone broadband service as well as bundled voice and data service packages. Link-Up Georgia reduces the cost of hook-up charges for eligible customers. AT&T-Georgia's customers receive 100% of the telephone service hook-up charge. Customers of all other local telephone companies in Georgia receive one-half of the connection charge or $30, whichever is less. You may be eligible if you can prove that you are currently receiving benefits under one of the following programs: Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Food Stamps Medicaid Senior citizen low-income discount plan offered by the local gas or power company Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
