About This Building
The Salvation Army Supportive Services for Veteran Families offers case management and temporary financial assistance to either put you in affordable housing, or keep you in your existing housing. They strive to connect you to resources that can help you find suitable employment, increase your income, and budget your expenses to set you up for better economic stability. Their housing specialist will help you search for a place to live and advocate on your behalf. When they can match you up with affordable housing, they may assist with security deposit, rent, utilities, and other miscellaneous costs. Their goal is to provide relief so that you are able to sustain yourself in the long-term. To be eligible, you must: -be a veteran with a discharge other than dishonorable -have an income less than 50% of the area median income -be homeless, or at risk of homelessness (you have been given notice from your landlord) -be able to show necessary documentation including, but not limited to: DD214, ID, social security card, proof of incomeEven if you are unsure if you qualify, feel free to call for an over-the-phone eligibility screening and they can assess your case to see if you would be a good fit for the SSVF program. They may also be able to provide referrals to other programs that can benefit you.
