Eligibility
The Troy Housing Authority (THA) Emergency Housing Voucher waiting list is currently open on a limited basis. Applications for referrals are being accepted from July 1, 2021, until further notice.
- This waiting list is for individuals and families in Tier 1 only.
Please note: According to the THA, "Applicants for these unique vouchers must fall into one of these three eligibility tiers:
- Tier 1 – Recently Homeless – Individuals and families who are Moving On from Permanent Supposrtive Housing
- Tier 2 – Individuals and families who are Homeless and/or fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking.
- Tier 3 – At Risk of Homelessness – Individuals and families who are at risk of losing their housing due to financial need."
To apply during the opening period, contact the Coordinated Entry (CE) system of the Rensselaer County Homeless Services Collaborative (RCHSC) for a referral.
Preferences have not yet been confirmed.
It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
