Eligibility
The Beacon Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.
This housing authority offers two apartment communities:
1. Forrestal Heights offers 175 units, ranging from studio's to 5 bedrooms, for families and senior/disabled individuals
2. Hamilton Fish Plaza offers 70 units, ranging from studio's to one bedrooms, this community is dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
There are two ways to apply for public housing:
1. Request an application be emailed to you, by emailing: [email protected].
2. Visit the housing authority office to pick up an application, located at 1 Forrestal Heights, Beacon, NY 12508, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00am until 3:30pm.
Once the application has been completed, you must call the housing authority to schedule an interview to finish the application process, they can be reached at 845-831-1289, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00am until 3:30pm. Be sure to have these original documents with you, at the time of your interview: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, proof of veteran status if applicable, proof of domestic violence if applicable, and photo IDs for all adult household members.
This housing authority does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: living/working in Beacon, veteran, displaced by a natural disaster, victim of domestic violence, disabled, or elderly.
