Eligibility
The Rome Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.
1. Colonial I Apartments is a 83 unit community dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
This housing authority has four apartment communities:
1. Colonial I Apartments is a 83 unit community dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
2. Colonial II Apartments is a 99 unit community, dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
3. Valentine Apartments is a 99 unit community, dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
4. Liberty Gardens is a 180 unit family community.
To apply for public housing, you can pick up an application by visiting the housing authority office, located at 200 N. Levitt St., Rome, NY 13440, during normal office hours. You can also download, print, and complete, an application by following the links above.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to:
For family public housing, 200 N. Levitt St., Rome, NY 13440.
For senior/disabled housing, 310 Cottage St., Rome, NY 13440.
This housing authority does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: veteran, elderly, or disabled.
