Eligibility
The Mechanicville Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and elderly/disabled individuals.
Please Note: The waiting list for public housing is over two years long.
This housing authority offers two communities for public housing:
1. Davenport Estates has 40 units, 25 of those units are designated for senior/disabled individuals, the remaining 15 units are for families.
2. John S. Moore is a family community, that has 120 units, ranging from 1-4 bedrooms.
There are two ways to apply for public housing:
1. Stop by the housing authority, to pick up an application, located at 1 Harris Avenue, Mechanicville, NY 12118, during normal office hours.
2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling 518-664-9834, during normal office hours.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, proof of income, social security cards, and photo IDs for all adult household members.
This housing authority does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list as: victim of domestic violence, living/working in Mechanicville, elderly, disabled.
