8. What are Landlord's Obligations under Section 8?

An annual inspection will be required, generally when the tenant's lease is up for renewal by HUD and the local PHA. Security deposits and the tenant's part of monthly rent are collected by landlords. The landlord needs to follow all landlord-tenant laws in the state and supply the agreed-upon services. Landlords should also submit notices of rent increases to local PHAs for approval.
