Manhattan Housing Authorityprovides housing assistance to low income residents through themanagement of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the HousingChoice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income basedandthe eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. There may be waitinglistsfor these rentals or vouchers due to the overwhelming need forhousingassistance and at times these lists may close to newapplicants based onthe size of and the length of wait on the lists.If you are in need ofassistance please contact the Housing Authoritydirectly to obtainmoreinformation about eligibility requirements,availability ofrentals orvouchers, the status of any waitinglistsand theirapplicationprocedures. Their office is available Monday 1:00pm - 5:00pm and Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm to assist you.
