Whiteside County Housing Authorityprovides housing assistance to low income residents through themanagement of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the HousingChoice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income based andthe eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. There may be waiting listsfor these rentals or vouchers due to the overwhelming need for housingassistance and at times these lists may close to new applicants based onthe size of and the length of wait on the lists. If you are in need ofassistance please contact the Housing Authority directly to obtain moreinformation about eligibility requirements, availability of rentals orvouchers, the status of any waiting lists and their applicationprocedures. Their office is available8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursdays they are open to the public for walk ins from 1:00 p.m. to4:30 p.m however phone calls will be answered beginning at 8:00 a.m.
