Housing Authority of the City of Americus

Housing Authority of the City of Americus provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income based and the eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. The Housing Authority currently manages 480 Public Housing Rentals and 716  vouchers. There may be waiting lists for some of these rentals and vouchers and at times these lists may close to new applicants based on the size of and length of wait on the lists due to the overwhelming need for housing assistance in the area. At the time of this listings last update, July 2011, the Authority's website stated that their Public Housing waiting list was open for new application and their HCV - Section 8 waiting list was closed.
